My pastor is currently preaching on a subject that I have been thinking about a lot lately. Finances. How can I make enough money to support myself and my family? How can I make enough money, that I don’t have to worry? What can I do to provide for myself and those around me? It’s not that these thoughts are bad, however, they are not foundationally sound for Christians.

The Bible illustrates the character of God to us concerning our provision. It says: “But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today.” (Deuteronomy 8:18 NIV). “And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19 NIV).

It is important that we have the right foundation concerning wealth and prosperity, and Christ has to be that foundation.
